Community campsite run by the Maasai people of Amboseli, in Southern part of NP (close the Serena lodge). Beautiful set up with large safari tents available and individual spots for camping with your own car and/or tent, in the shade of trees. Camp is fenced but elephants still get in once in a while for grassing. Splendid view on Mount Kilimanjaro in the morning. Shower and toilets are spacious, clean and have running water. Nice shelter for cooking. Overall the best campsite so far in a national park. Cheap price (500 KSH/pers) compared to the US$25/pers for the poor public campsite of KWS! Don't get fooled by the signposts in the Southern part of Amboseli NP which indicate ''public campsite'' but it is actually the ''Maasai Community campsite''. Don't pay the US$25 fee for public campsite at the entrance of the park, and only pay 500 KSH to the Maasai.
