You can also camp on the carpark (5€) but the rooms are so cheap and you can see the castle from your window straight in front of you. Clean room, ok facilities but lots of insects. Let Abu Omar, the hospitable owner, decide for you what to eat in his restaurant, he'll make you happy. No internet. He can arrange an hotel for you in Palmyra as well.

Convenient place in the suburb of Damascus, clean facilities. Difficult to find: when coming from Palmyra on the highway, continue along the car shops (Opel, Citroen, etc.). Turn right after the shop 'Option' then keep straight until the end of the road, take right to gravel road. Taxi to the old city for 2€. Good and clean sanitaries. No internet.
